Logging in to a NearStore VTL Appliance
	Chapter 1. Introduction

Except for a small number of operations such as the initial assignment of an IP address, the configuration and operation of the NearStore VTL are performed through a Graphical User Interface (GUI) (See Appendix A, Setting the IP Address from the Command Line for more on the command line interface). This GUI is accessed through a standard Web browser by first logging in to the NearStore VTL appliance.

To log in to the VTL, do the following:

Launch a supported Web browser.
Enter the following in to the URL field:

http://vtl_IP_addr/

vtl_IP_addr is the IP address assigned to the NearStore VTL appliance. Accessing this address takes you to the NearStore VTL login screen.
Log in to the NearStore VTL appliance.

The first time that you log in to the NearStore VTL appliance, use the default administrative account. The default administrative account login name is admin and the password is NetApp.
