Navigating the NearStore VTL GUI
	Chapter 1. Introduction

The following shows a sample Administrator Overview window, the first window you see after logging in.

Part	Description
Banner	Displays the overall status, time of day, and, if there are any actions requiring administrator action, an actions required icon. If there is an actions required icon, click the icon to go to the Monitoring > Actions Required screen, where you can take the necessary action to resolve the issue. Click the status icon to go to the Monitoring > Administrative Overview screen where you can get more details on the status. Click the NetApp logo to open the NetApp home page. Click Logout to log out of the VTL.
Left pane	Lists the major categories for tasks organized into daily administrative tasks (Daily Tasks), and Configuration Tasks. To perform a task, first select the major task category, such as Monitoring, and then select the task in the main window.
Main window	Displays tabs for the various subtasks and the information, input fields, and buttons needed to perform the task. Click the tab name to select a specific tab.

To perform a specific task, first select the task category from the left pane, then the appropriate tab, and then fill in, or select, the appropriate values in the fields in the task window. The tab set varies depending on the main task.

In the screen shot, Monitoring, is the main task; with tabs Administrator Overview, Actions Required, Statistics, Import/Export Requests, and Event Log. The Administrator Overview tab is selected.
