The following table provides each RAID group status event code, its corresponding message, and a description of the event.
Table 5.1.
| Code | Message | Description |
|---|---|---|
DEVNAME is missing. | The RAID group DEVNAME is configured, but cannot be accessed. You see this if all of the underlying physical disks are inaccessible, for example if the physical disks are not powered up or are not connected.
DEVNAME is degraded. | The RAID group DEVNAME is degraded. This might be due to an underlying physical disk being not powered up or disconnected.
DEVNAME is switched to offline. | The RAID group DEVNAME is offline if more than one of the underlying physical disks are not powered up or are disconnected.
DEVNAME repair task started | A repair task has started for the RAID group DEVNAME.
DEVNAME repair task completed. | The repair task on the RAID group DEVNAME is done.
DEVNAME repair task stopped | The repair task on the RAID group DEVNAME is stopped.
DEVNAME repair task completed with errors. | The repair task on the RAID group DEVNAME completed, but with errors.
DISK at Port=PORT Shelf=SHF Bay=[BAY] SerialNo=SERIAL added to the spare disk pool | The disk on port PORT, shelf SHELF and drive bay BAY, with serial number SerialNo was added to the spare disk pool.
DISK at Port=PORT Shelf=SHF Bay=[BAY] SerialNo=SERIAL taken out of the spare disk pool | The disk on port PORT, shelf SHELF and drive bay BAY, with serial number SerialNo was removed from the spare disk pool and used to replace a missing disk in a RAID group.
DISK at Port=PORT Shelf=SHF Bay=[BAY] SerialNo=SERIAL dropped from the spare disk pool | The disk on port PORT, shelf SHELF and drive bay BAY, with serial number SerialNo was dropped from the spare disk pool.
DEVNAME running in normal mode | Device is now running in normal mode. This could occur because it is newly created, or just repaired.
DEVNAME created | Device was just created.
Failed to create RAID group | The NearStore VTL attempted to create a RAID group, but did not succeed.
RAID group DEVNAME dropped | A RAID group was removed.
Error occurred while dropping RAID group DEVNAME | The NearStore VTL tried to remove a RAID group, but failed.
DEVNAME is degraded. Auto repair is disabled | A device is degraded. By default auto repair would be started, but auto repair is disabled.
DISK at Port=PORT Shelf=SHF Bay=[BAY] SerialNo=SERIAL added to maintenance disk pool | A disk has been moved to the maintenance pool.
Hot spare disk pool needs disks of DISK_CAPACITIES sizes | The pool of disks kept in reserve as hot spares needs to be increased, but no disks of the right capacity are available.
All disks are missing in the hot spare pool. Need disks of DISK_CAPACITIES sizes | There are no disks in the hot spare pool. Disks with capacity DISK_CAPACITIES should be added.
