Installing Disk Firmware on Disks of a Specific Model (diskfirmware install)

SYNOPSIS

diskfirmware install model fw_rev [file1] [file2]

ARGUMENTS

model Model displayed by the diskfirmware list command.
fw_rev Recommended revision displayed by the diskfirmware list command. If the revision is N/A, no upgrade is recommended for the disk. If you want to install a non-recommended version of firmware, specify it.
file1 Name of the upgrade binary file.
file2 Name of the upgrade control file, which some vendors require in addition to the binary file. file1 and file2 (if required) can be specified in any order.

RESULT

A successful diskfirmware install command installs firmware, either the prepackaged VTL copy or the version from the NOW site, on disks of a specific model. Enter the file1 and file2 arguments only if you are installing a firmware image that you downloaded. Omitting the file1 and file2 arguments installs a prepackaged version of the disk firmware. If the arguments are omitted and no prepackaged version of the firmware is stored on the VTL, the system displays a message telling you to upload a file to the appliance. On failure, diskfirmware install returns an error message.
