Manage vFilers |
The Manage vFilers page enables you to perform the following procedures:
Starting and stopping a vFiler Unit:
You stop a vFiler unit if you need to troubleshoot vFiler unit problems or destroy a vFiler unit.
You can start a vFiler unit that is stopped; after a vFiler unit starts, it is in running state and can receive packets from clients.
Note: You cannot stop or start vFiler0.
To start and stop a vFiler unit, complete the following steps.
Select the check box next to the vFiler unit you want to stop or start.
Click Start or Stop.
Destroying a vFiler unit has the following effects:
All resources that are associated with the vFiler unit are released. User data contained in the vFiler unit remains intact after you destroy the vFiler unit.
If the vFiler unit destroyed was in a different IPspace than the hosting filer, the IP addresses previously owned by the vFiler unit are not available for use after you destroy the vFiler unit.
The vFiler unit must meet these prerequisites before you can destroy it:
The vFiler unit must be in the stopped state.
The IP addresses used by the vFiler unit must be unconfigured.
To destroy a vFiler unit, complete the following steps.
Select the check box next to the vFiler unit you want to destroy.
Click Destroy.
Modifying an existing vFiler Unit:
To make changes to an existing vFiler unit, complete the following steps.
From the list of vFiler units, locate the name
of the vFiler unit you want to modify and click on it.
