Disk Report

The Disk Report displays disk information for aggregates and traditional volumes, their plexes and RAID groups, and the disks currently assigned to them. The report also includes the timestamp of the last successful disk scrub for each RAID group.

You can click the name of an aggregate to display the Aggregate Properties page for that aggregate. You can also click the disk ID to display the Manage Disks page, which provides additional information about disks in the storage system.

Scrubbing Disks

From the Disk Report, you can scrub disks to check RAID group parity on RAID groups at the RAID group level, plex level, or aggregate or traditional volume level. Parity checking compares the data disks in a RAID group to the parity disk in a RAID group. If during the parity check Data ONTAP determines that parity is incorrect, Data ONTAP corrects the parity disk contents.

At the RAID group level, you can check only RAID groups that are in an active parity state. Data ONTAP generates error messages if you try to scrub a RAID group in a degraded, reconstructing, or repairing state.

Note: If you want to check an aggregate or traditional volume for which some but not all RAID groups are in an active parity state, Data ONTAP checks and corrects the RAID groups in an active parity state and reports errors for the RAID groups not in an active parity state.

By selecting an option in the Aggregate drop-down menu and clicking View, you can view details of all aggregates, or a specific aggregate or volume alone.

You can start, stop, suspend, or resume a scrub by using the respective buttons.

Note: Scrub operations are not supported for V-Series systems. For V-Series systems, the Disk Report page will not contain any scrub details or scrub related buttons.
