rshd - remote shell daemon
The filer supports a UNIX-compatible remote shell capability
to make it easy to execute certain filer commands from a
UNIX command line or shell script. rshd was added to support
the dump commmand, but it allows access to other commands
as well. The full list of supported commands is: df,
dump, exportfs, halt, mt, nfsstat, options, quota, rdate,
restore, snap, snmp, sysconfig, sysstat, uptime, and version.
The /etc/hosts.equiv file (see hosts.equiv(5)) controls
which hosts and remote users have access to the filer remote
shell. Since the only local user the filer recognizes is
root, a non-root remote user must type:
adminhost% rsh -l root toaster command
na_hosts.equiv(5)
