license - license Data ONTAP services

SYNOPSIS

license [ service=code ] ...

DESCRIPTION

license allows access to specific Data ONTAP services using a code provided by Network Appliance. With no arguments, license prints the current list of licensed services and their codes.

Network Appliance products are shipped with all purchased services already licensed, so license is normally needed only to turn on new services. License is required if a new file system is created.

To turn off or disable a license, enter the code DISABLE. The license will be removed.

The following is a list of supported services:

nfs
NFS service.

cifs
CIFS service.

http
HTTP service

EXAMPLES

To enable NFS service:

toaster> license nfs=ABCDEFG 

  nfs license enabled.
       nfs enabled.

To disable CIFS service:

toaster> license cifs=DISABLE 

  unlicense cifs.
       cifs will be disabled upon reboot.

To list all license options and their codes:

toaster> license 

  cifs    site BCDEFGH
  http    not licensed
