cifs access - set Share-Level Access Control
cifs access share [ -g ] user | group rights
cifs access -delete share [ -g ] user | group
The cifs access command sets or modifies the Access Control
List (``ACL'') across an entire shared directory tree (that
is, for an entire CIFS ``share''). To add or modify an ACL
entry, enter
cifs access share user | group rights
where share is one of the currently defined shares, user
group is one of the users in /etc/passwd or one of the
groups in /etc/group or is everyone, and rights is a set of
UNIX-style access privileges: r for read, w for write, and x
for execute. For example:
cifs access users hawleyr rw
gives the user hawleyr read and write permission for the
share users.
This command can also be used to replace an existing access
right with a new right.
To remove an ACL entry, enter
cifs access -delete share user | group
By default, cifs access will first try to match the name
supplied for user | group with the name of a user, and then
if no user is found, with the name of a group. The -g option
restricts the match to the name of a group; this is useful
when a group has a name that is also the name of a user.
