Autosupport Enabled
The autosupport daemon triggers automatic e-mail messages to members of Network Appliance Technical Support, alerting them to potential filer problems. If necessary, Network Appliance will contact you at the e-mail address that you specify to help you resolve a potential system problem.
Mail Host
The filer does not function as a mail host. The filer relies on another host at your site that listens on the SMTP port (25) to send mail; therefore, autosupport requires at least one host reachable by the filer that runs an SMTP server or a mail forwarder such as the sendmail program. By default, the administration host defined during system setup is used as a mail host. You can specify additional mail hosts.
Recipients of autosupport E-mail
The "To:" field specifies the e-mail addresses of the recipients of e-mail messages generated by the autosupport daemon.
Recipients of autosupport Note
The "Note to:" field specifies the e-mail addresses of the recipients of short e-mail messages generated by the autosupport daemon. The short e-mail messages are for urgent events such as disk failures or filer reboots. They are useful if the person who should be notified of urgent events reads e-mail on a small screen such as that on an alphanumeric pager.
Sender of autosupport E-mail
The "From:" field specifies the sender of the automatic e-mail. It should be the e-mail address of the person whom Network Appliance contacts after receiving an automatic e-mail message.
