Autosupport configuration

This window specifies how the filer sends automatic e-mail to Network Appliance. After you make a change, click the Save Changes button to save the changes to the filer. To view the changes that you made, click the View Changes button. To reload the current settings from the filer, click the Reload button.

The configurable fields in this window are:

Autosupport enabled

The autosupport daemon triggers automatic e-mail messages to members of Network Appliance Technical Support, alerting them to potential filer problems. If necessary, Network Appliance will contact you at the e-mail address that you specify to help you resolve a potential system problem.

Mail host

The filer does not function as a mail host. The filer relies on another host at your site that listens on the SMTP port (25) to send mail; therefore, autosupport requires at least one host reachable by the filer that runs an SMTP server or a mail forwarder such as the sendmail program. By default, the administration host defined during system setup is used as a mail host. You can specify additional mail hosts.

Recipients of autosupport e-mail

The "To:" field specifies the e-mail addresses of the recipients of e-mail messages generated by the autosupport daemon.

Recipients of autosupport note

The "Note to:" field specifies the e-mail addresses of the recipients of short e-mail messages generated by the autosupport daemon. The short e-mail messages are for urgent events such as disk failures or filer reboots. They are useful if the person who should be notified of urgent events reads e-mail on a small screen such as that on an alphanumeric pager.

Sender of autosupport E-mail

The "From:" field specifies the sender of the automatic e-mail. It should be the e-mail address of the person whom Network Appliance contacts after receiving an automatic e-mail message.
