Miscellaneous configuration

This window displays miscellaneous configuration fields. After you make a change, click the Save Changes button to save the changes to the filer. To view the changes that you made, click the View Changes button. To reload the current settings from the filer, click the Reload button.

The configurable fields in this window are:

• NDMP enabled
• Save core files

NDMP enabled

Enables Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) support on the filer. With NDMP, you can use third-party backup management programs that support the Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP), Version 1 or Version 2, to back up the filer. The filer can be backed up by NDMP to the following devices:

• tape drive or stacker (library) attached to the filer
• tape drive or stacker (library) attached to the workstation that runs the backup program
• tape drive or stacker (library) attached to a workstation or filer on your network

Save core files

Saves the core file from a filer crash, if any, in the /etc/crash directory. Core files are created only during the first boot after a system crash.
