cifs access - set share-level access control
cifs access share [ -g ] user | group rights
cifs access -delete share [ -g ] user | group
The cifs access command sets or modifies the Access Control
List (``ACL'') across a share. To change a user's access
rights to a share, enter:
cifs access share user rights
To change a group's access rights to a share, enter:
cifs access share -g group rights
In either command syntax shown above, share is one of the
currently defined shares, user and group are the users and
groups defined in the filer's /etc/passwd and /etc/group
files, or in the NIS database if your filer is an NIS
client. The user parameter can also be everyone. The
rights parameter is a set of UNIX-style access privileges:
r for read, w for write, and x for execute. For example:
cifs access releases hawleyr rw
gives the user hawleyr read and write permission for the
share releases.
You can also use the cifs access command to replace an
existing access right with a new right.
To remove an ACL entry, enter:
cifs access -delete share user
or
cifs access -delete share -g group
If the -g flag is not specified, cifs access tries to match
the user or group name in the command with the name of a
user. If no user is found, it tries to match it with the
name of a group. The -g option restricts the match to the
name of a group. Use the -g flag when a group has a name
that is also the name of a user.
