NAME

cifs mkdir - create a directory for a user

SYNOPSIS

cifs mkdir share user path

DESCRIPTION

THIS FUNCTION IS OBSOLETE AND HAS BEEN REPLACED BY THE NETAPP PERMISSIONS TOOL. THE FUNCTION WILL BE DELETED IN A FUTURE VERSION OF THE SYSTEM

This command facilitates creation of a user's home directory. (It permits an administrator using a DOS or Windows machine to create for a UNIX user a directory having the appropriate UNIX-style permissions, and at the same time to make the user the directory's owner.)

The command creates a directory with the pathname path; the path must be stated relative to the root directory of the share share.

The directory thus created has user as its owner and user's primary group as its group owner.
