The Operational Status window displays the following operational statistics about the filer:

Uptime

This section displays the current time, the length of time the system has been operating (in days), and the total number of NFS, CIFS, and HTTP operations the system has performed since the system was rebooted.

Network Statistics

This section displays the state of the network interfaces installed in the filer. If the interface is down, an asterisk (*) is appended to the name of the interface. The following table identifies the information provided in the network statistics display box:

Iface The name of the interface that is automatically assigned by the filer. The network interfaces are named as follows:

For filers based on the EISA bus architecture, Ethernet interface names start with the string ns followed by the interface number (for example, ns0 and ns1). FDDI interface names start with the string fi followed by the interface number (for example, fi0 and fi1).

For filers based on the PCI bus architecture, Ethernet interface names start with the letter e followed by the slot number (for example, e0) and the port number if the network card has more than one port (for example, a quad-port Ethernet card has four interfaces named e1a, e1b, e1c, and e1d). FDDI interface names start with the letter f followed by the slot number (for example, f1 and f2). ATM interface names start with the letter a followed by the slot number (for example, a5).

MTU The maximum transmission unit (MTU). By default, the MTU is 4352 on an FDDI interface 1500 on an Ethernet interface, and 918 on an ATM interface.
Network The IP address of the interface.
Address The host name of the interface, which identifies the name of the filer and the slot in which the interface is installed.
Ipkts The number of incoming packets.
Ierrs The number of incoming packets with errors.
Opkts The number of outgoing packets.
Oerrs The number of outgoing packets with errors.
Collis The number of collisions.
Queue The number of packets in queue.

Disk Space Statistics

This section displays information about file system disk utilization. Statistics for snapshots are displayed on a separate line from the active file system because the filer treats snapshots as a partition that is different from the active file system.

The window provides the following information:

Filesystem / represents the active file system.
/.snapshot represents the partition of the file system reserved for automatic snapshots.
kbytes For the active file system, this value equals the total amount of disk space installed. Note: Parity disks, disk space reserved for snapshots, and the 10 percent of the total disk space the filer reserves for efficiency in a UNIX FFS (Fast File System) are not factored into this total.

For snapshots, this value equals the total amount of disk space that is reserved for snapshots.

used The total amount of disk space (reported in 1024-byte blocks) used by the active file system or snapshots.
avail The total amount of disk space (reported in 1024-byte blocks) available for use by the active file system and snapshots.
capacity The total amount of disk space used (reported in percentage form) by the active file system or snapshots.
Mounted on If the file system is partitioned, the name of the directory in which the file system is mounted.
