Messages
The Messages window displays the system messages that are logged to the /etc/messages file and the console connected to the filer. You can control what type of messages are logged to the file by using the Syslog window to edit the /etc/syslog.conf file, which configures the syslogd daemon to determine how different system messages are logged. By default, the syslogd daemon logs all messages of priority "info" and higher to the /etc/messages file and console.
You should check the Messages window once a day for important messages.
