Modify an export option

To modify the information for a host or subnet that can mount an exported path, complete one or both of the following tasks:

• If you want to change the way the host or subnet can access the exported path, select one of the following permissions:
  • root-to give root access only to the host
  • access-to give mount access to the host or net group
  • rw-to give read-write access to the host

    NOTE: You can specify the access option for netgroups; root and rw options are only for hosts.

If the path is exported to a host or net group, enter the name of the host or net group.

If the path is exported to a subnet, you can select the ro, rw, or root option.

The subnet address is a dotted IP subnet address and a mask written in the following format:

dotted_ip/num_bits 

where dotted_ip can be an IP address ("a.b.c.d") or an IP subnet (a for a class A network, a.b for a class B network, or a.b.c for a class C network). The size of the subnet is specified by the number of leading bits of the netmask, num_bits.

Following are some examples of specifying the subnet:

• To export to all addresses of the form "123.45.67.x" with a netmask 255.255.255.0 (24 leading bits), enter 123.45.67.0/24 as the subnet address.
• To export to all addresses of the form "123.45.x.y" with a 16-bit netmask (255.255.0.0), enter 123.45.0.0/16.

Click OK to record the new information and close the dialog box.

Click Revert to erase the new entries and revert back to the previous entries.

Click Cancel to close the dialog box without modifying the information.
