Modify an /etc/httpd.translations entry
To modify an entry in the /etc/httpd.translations file, enter the appropriate information in one or more of the following boxes:
- In the Command box, select one of the following URL translation rules:
- Map-specifies that when a component of a URL matches the template, the request is mapped to another directory on the same host as specified in the result string.
- Redirect-specifies that when a component of a URL matches the template, the request is redirected to the URL defined in the result string. The result string for the redirect rule must be specified as a complete URL beginning with http:// and the host name.
- Pass-specifies that when a component of a URL matches the template, the filer will accept the request, process the request as is, and disregard other rules. If the pass rule includes a result string, the filer accepts the request, processes the request by using the URL defined in the result string, and disregards other rules.
- Fail-specifies that when a component of a URL matches the template, the filer will deny access to that component of the URL and disregard other rules.
- In the Template box, enter the appropriate template string. This string specifies a component of a URL.
- In the Result box, enter the appropriate result string. This string varies, depending on the rules used to define the HTTP translation.
NOTE: You can use asterisks (*) as wildcard characters in the template and result strings. In the template string, the wildcard character matches zero or more characters, including the slash (/) character. In the result string, the wildcard character represents the text expanded from the match in the template string. You should include the wildcard character in the result string only if a wildcard character has been used in the template string. If multiple wildcard characters are used, the first one in the result string corresponds to the first one in the template string, the second one in the result string corresponds to the second one in the template string.
In the Comment box, enter any comments associated with the translation, preceded by the pound sign (#).
