Save core files

This window displays miscellaneous configuration fields. To reload the current settings from the filer, click the Reload Settings button. To view the changes that you made, click the View Changes button. After you make a change, click the Save Changes button to save the changes to the filer.

NDMP enabled

Enables Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) support on the filer. With NDMP, you can use third-party backup management programs that support NDMP Version 1 or Version 2 to back up the filer. NDMP can back up the filer to these devices:

  • tape drive or stacker (library) attached to the filer
  • tape drive or stacker (library) attached to the workstation that runs the backup program
  • tape drive or stacker (library) attached to a workstation or filer on your network

Save core files

Saves two core files from a filer crash in the /etc/crash directory:

  • The core.n-small file contains everything except the file system buffers.
  • The core.n file includes more information that might be essential for determining the cause of the crash; it is often necessary for investigating problems involving the file system.

The n in the file name of the core file is a number. Core files are created only during the first boot after a system crash.
