Considerations when using NDMP on the filer

Port used by the NDMP daemon

The NDMP daemon listens on port 10,000 of the filer. Do not use any third-party network management programs that try to use this port, or NDMP does not function properly.

Maximum length of the password used for MD5 authentication

If you use MD5 authentication for NDMP, the filer only accepts passwords that contain eight characters or fewer.
