| This window configures the filer to be more secure. To reload
the current settings from the filer, click the Reload Setting button. To view the changes
that you made, click the View Changes button. After you make a change, click the Save
Changes button to save the changes to the filer. The following list describes the
fields in this window:
- Only root allowed to mount
- Configures the filer to give mount privilege to root using only privileged ports (ports
1 through 1,024).
- Only root allowed to chown
- Allows only the root user to change the owner of a file. When the option is disabled,
the owner of a file can change its ownership without being root.
- When a non-root user changes the owner of a file, the set-user-ID and set-group-ID bits
are cleared. If a non-root user tries to change the owner of a file but the change would
cause the file's recipient to exceed their quota, the attempt fails.
-
Cluster considerations
- The Only root allowed to chown field must have the same setting on both filers for
takeover to occur properly.
-
- Hosts allowed to telnet
- In the pull-down menu, if you select All, all hosts can connect to the filer using
telnet.
If you select None, no hosts can connect to the filer using telnet. To
specify a list of hosts that can connect to the filer using telnet, select
Hosts and enter up to five host names.
-
Cluster considerations
- The Hosts allowed to telnet fields must have the same values on both filers for takeover
to occur properly.
