secureadmin - commands for SecureAdmin(tm) configuration and
control.
secureadmin command argument ...
SecureAdmin is a product option for DataONTAP(tm) 5.3 or
later. SecureAdmin implements an SSH 1.0-compliant server.
Administrator can use any client software that is compatible
with the SSH 1.0 protocol to securely administer an appliance
on which SecureAdmin is installed. The secureadmin
commands configure, enable, disable, or display status of
the SSH server.
secureadmin setup [ -f ] ssh
configures SSH server to run for the first time. To
properly configure SSH server, the administrator needs
to specify the key strength for the host key and the
server key. The keys are RSA keys. The allowable
range for the key strength is 384-bit to 1024-bit. The
key strength for the host and the server key must
differ by at least 128-bit. After setup is done the
SSH server is ready to be enabled. The -f flag forces
setup to run even if SSH setup has already been performed.
secureadmin enable ssh
starts the SSH server now and at every boot. At this
point, the SSH server is up and ready to accept connection
from any client software that is compatible with
the SSH 1.0 protocol.
secureadmin disable ssh
stops the SSH server now and at every boot.
secureadmin status
shows the current running status of SSH server.
secureadmin version
shows the current version of SecureAdmin running on the
appliance.
The secureadmin command usage may also mention the HTTPS and
SSL protocol. You can disregard these protocols. They are
not supported in the current release.
