Create an /etc/httpd.translations entry
To add a URL translation to the /etc/httpd.translations file, enter the
appropriate information in the following fields:
- Command
- A URL translation rule, which can be one of the following rules:
- Map: Specifies that when a component of a URL matches the template, the request is
mapped to another directory on the same host as specified in the result string.
- Redirect: Specifies that when a component of a URL matches the template, the request is
redirected to the URL defined in the result string. The result string for the redirect
rule must be specified as a complete URL beginning with http:// and the host
name.
- Pass: Specifies that when a component of a URL matches the template, the filer accepts
the request, processes the request as is, and disregards other rules. If the pass rule
includes a result string, the filer accepts the request, processes the request by using
the URL defined in the result string, and disregards other rules.
- Fail: Specifies that when a component of a URL matches the template, the filer denies
access to that component of the URL and disregards other rules.
- Template
- Template string, which specifies a component of a URL.
- Result
- Result string, which depends on the rules used to define the HTTP translation.
- Comment
- Comment associated with the translation, preceded by the pound sign (#).
NOTE: You can use asterisks (*) as wildcard characters in the template
and result strings. In the template string, the wildcard character matches zero or more
characters, including the slash (/) character. In the result string, the wildcard
character represents the text expanded from the match in the template string. You should
include the wildcard character in the result string only if a wildcard character has been
used in the template string. If multiple wildcard characters are used, the first one in
the result string corresponds to the first one in the template string, the second one in
the result string corresponds to the second one in the template string, and so on.
