Log messages generated by NDMP

Where log messages are saved

When an NDMP session is in progress, the filer generates messages about the session and saves them to a file named ndmplog.yyyymmdd in the /etc directory. In the actual command, yyyy is the year, mm is the month, and dd is the date. For example, the log file generated on December 7, 1998, is named ndmplog.19981207.

If multiple NDMP sessions take place on the same day, the filer saves the information about all sessions to the same log file.

Maximum number of log files on the filer

The filer keeps a maximum of eight log files. They are for the past seven days and the current day. The filer deletes a log file when it is eight days old.
