Installing a disk shelf fan

To install a disk shelf fan, complete the following steps.

Step	Action
1	Put on an ESD wrist strap and grounding leash.
2	Slide the fan gently into the socket, making sure that the fan fits snugly into the disk shelf.
3	Tighten the captive thumbscrews on both sides of the fan by turning them clockwise.

Note
After you replace a fan, all three fans default to maximum speed and then cycle down at 10-second intervals until they reach optimum operating speed.
