Required software and firmware

Software requirements

You require the following software to convert your filer to a cluster:

Data ONTAP 6.1.2 or later for F810 clusters
Data ONTAP 6.0.1 or later for F820 clusters
Data ONTAP 6.3 or later for F825 clusters
Data ONTAP 5.3.6H1 or later for F840 clusters
Data ONTAP 6.1.1 or later for F880 clusters
Data ONTAP 6.1 or later for dual Fibre Channel adapters or VI cluster adapters
Data ONTAP 6.2 or later for mirrored clusters
Data ONTAP 6.4 or later for MetroClusters with Fibre Channel switches
Note
The software is on a CD-ROM for new systems, or you can download it from http://now.netapp.com. To download the software, you need network connectivity and access to a UNIX or PC system.

Firmware requirements

Your filers and disks drives require the following firmware levels for cluster conversion. If your disk type is not listed, contact your Customer Support representative or see the NOW Web page at http://now.netapp.com for the current firmware version.
