You can add a DS14 disk shelf to a cluster that is made up of DS14 disk shelves without powering down your cluster. This enables you to add disk shelves without a service interruption, up to the total amount of storage your cluster supports. See the NOW Web page at http://now.netapp.com for the amount of storage your cluster can support.

Caution
You can also add other disk shelf types to a cluster. However, you should not attempt to do this without first consulting NetApp Customer Support.
