Step 2: Cabling the new disk shelf

To cable the new disk shelf to the existing Channel A and B loops, complete the following steps.

Cable the last disk shelf Channel A LRC Output port to the new disk shelf Channel A LRC Input port. Label the cable with a solid-colored label.

Cable the last disk shelf Channel B LRC Output port to the new disk shelf Channel B LRC Input port. Label the cable with a striped label.

Set the Channel A terminate switch on the new disk shelf to On, then set the Channel B terminate switch to On.

Set the Channel A terminate switch on the previous disk shelf to Off, then set the Channel B terminate switch to Off.

Go to Step 3: Updating the firmware and checking the new disk shelf.
