Cabling your system into a mirrored cluster

Step 3: Cabling the Channel B loop

Cabling the Channel B loops  Top

To cable the Channel B loops, complete the following steps, using the diagram for reference.

Step

Action

1

Cable the FC-AL adapter in Slot 8, Port 1 of the local node, to the local node disk shelf 1 LRC Input port of disk pool 1, then cable the FC-AL adapter in Slot 6, Port 1 of the local node to the partner node disk shelf LRC Input port of the first disk shelf in disk pool 0.

2

Cable the local node's disk shelf 1 Channel B LRC Output port to the local node's disk shelf 2 Channel B LRC Input port and repeat for the remaining disk shelves in the loop in both disk pools. Label these cables with a striped labels.

3

Cable the FC-AL adapter in Slot 6, Port 1 of the partner node to the local node disk shelf LRC Input port of the first disk shelf of disk pool 0, then cable the FC-AL adapter in Slot 8, port 1 of the partner node to the partner node disk shelf 1 LRC Inport of disk pool 1, then cable the remaining disk shelves for the node.

4

Set the terminate switches to Off on all but the last disk shelf in the loop, then set the terminate switch on the last disk shelf to On.

5

Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for the partner node.

6

Go to Step 4: Completing setup and testing your mirrored cluster.
