Connecting a third-party tape backup device
Guidelines for connecting tape backup devices
The following list specifies guidelines for successfully connecting third-party tape backup devices to your filer:
- Check the System Configuration Guide at http://now.netapp.com to verify that your tape backup device is supported. Connecting an unsupported tape backup device can cause your filer to halt.
- Use the appropriate type and length cable for the tape backup device. The maximum cable length supported by the SCSI adapter is 2 meters.
