Rules and restrictions

You must observe the following rules and restrictions when installing a NetApp filer system:

You must wear an antistatic wrist strap when you handle electronic equipment.
You must work with another person.
WARNING
The filer is extremely heavy. To avoid injuring yourself or damaging the filer, you must work with at least one other person when you install the filer in the rack.
Only install the number of SDS12 disk shelves supported by your filer model. The F85 supports one SDS12 disk shelf.
The F85 has several unused ports which are disabled. The disabled ports are: VGA, USB, keyboard, mouse, and parallel port.

Rules for arranging the components in the racks

In a rack, install the filer at the bottom of the rack. Installing the filer at the bottom of the rack adds stability to the rack prior to installing the disk shelf.
