To install your filer in a standard 19-inch, four-post, square hole equipment rack, complete the following steps, using the figure for reference.
| 1 | Align the mounting tab on the front of the slide assembly with the holes in the rack. Push the assembly forward, then down until the blue lock latch locks into place. WARNING |
| 2 | Push the back of the slide assembly into the notches on the back of the rack, then push down until the blue latch locks into place. |
| 3 | Pull the left and right interior slide assemblies out of the slide assembly until they lock into place. |
| 4 | With two people, place one hand on the front-bottom and one hand on the back bottom of the filer and lift it. Tilt the filer slightly to the back, aligning the back-most shoulder screws with the slots in the back of the slide assembly. |
| 5 | Slide the filer into the back-most slot on each internal slide assembly, then seat it in the remaining holes in the internal slide assembly. |
| 6 | Attach the cable tray to the back of the filer, then attach the end of the cable management arm with the right-angle bracket to the right rear post of the rack. Use the following figure for reference.
| 7 | Slide the cable management arm into the cable tray and secure it to the cable tray. Note |
| 8 | Go to Chapter 3, Connecting the Filer, for instructions about connecting your filer to a third-party SCSI tape backup device, connecting it to your network, and connecting an ASCII terminal. |
