To install your filer as a tower system, complete the following steps.
| 1 | Prepare the area where you are installing the filer, based on the parameters and information described in the Site Requirements Guide and Filer dimensions and environmental parameters. |

| 2 | Connect your filer to a third-party backup storage device, as described in Connecting a third-party SCSI tape backup device. |

| 4 | Connect your filer to the network as described in Connecting the filer to an Ethernet network. |

Connect your filer to the network as described in Connecting to a fiber optic GbE network. |

| 5 | Connect your console to the filer, as described in Connecting the filer to an ASCII terminal console. |

| 6 | Connect the power cables to your filer, then plug them into separate power sources and apply power. |

| 7 | Configure your tower system as described in the Software Setup Guide. |
