CIFS limitations
User Manager limitations
The following limitations apply to User Manager when you use User Manager for the filer:
- Although the filer supports local users, you cannot use the New Users command on the User menu to create or delete local user accounts.
- The Policies menu is disabled, but some policies can be controlled through options or group membership.
Server Manager limitations
The following Server Manager features are not supported because they are not applicable to Data ONTAP:
- Stopping and starting services
- Specifying the recipients of alerts
Limits for local user accounts
You can specify up to 96 local user accounts on the filer.
