The default lifetime of SID-to-name mapping entries is 1440, which is 24 hours. Lifetime is expressed in minutes.

To change the lifetime of mapping entries, complete the following step.

options cifs.sidcache.lifetime time

time represents the number of minutes that new mapping entries are used before they expire.
