Starting and stopping the DAFS service

When to stop and start the DAFS service  Top

The dafs setup command starts the DAFS service. During regular operations, you may temporarily want to stop the DAFS service for

For filer maintenance, it is important to stop the DAFS service (with the dafs stop command) and disable any other currently running protocols, for example, CIFS or NFS. After performing the maintenance, you can run dafs start to enable the DAFS protocol and enable any other desired protocols. When you start the DAFS service, DAFS VI NICs are automatically reattached.

You can also enable the DAFS service to run persistently (for example, to always start at boot time) or disable the DAFS service from running. To perform these operations, you use the options dafs.enable command.

About starting and stopping the DAFS service  Top
