Managing licenses

About license codes  Top

A license code is a string of characters that is unique to a particular filer (such as ABCDEFG). You receive license codes for every protocol and option that you purchase. Not all purchased license codes are installed on a filer before it is shipped from the factory; some must be installed after the system is set up. You can purchase license codes to enable additional protocols and options at any time.

License code replacement  Top

If you misplace a license code, you can contact Network Appliance Technical Support or log in to the NOW site at http://now.netapp.com to obtain a copy.
