Accessing a filer from the console or a Telnet session
Background information
You need to understand the following information before you access the filer through the console or a Telnet session:
- The console and Telnet share a single session. Commands typed at either location are echoed to the other location. Messages are displayed at both locations.
- Commands entered at the console or through a Telnet session can be aborted by pressing Ctrl-C.
Note
Because the console and a Telnet session share a single session, pressing Ctrl-C aborts the current command regardless of the location from which the command was entered. You can prevent commands from being aborted at the console or through a Telnet session by using the rsh command to initiate commands from an administration host.
- Only one Telnet session can be active at a time.
