Enabling automatic giveback

What automatic giveback is

Automatic giveback begins when one node of a cluster is in takeover mode and the failed node is repaired and reboots. The repaired node boots into Data ONTAP, and the node in takeover mode detects this and initiates a giveback.

This option works only with platforms booted from CompactFlash.

How to enable automatic giveback

To enable automatic giveback, complete the following step.

Step	Action
1	Enter the following command: options cf.giveback.auto enable off \| on The `on` value enables automatic giveback. The `off` value disables automatic giveback. This option is Off by default.
