RAID Group Management

About this chapter

This chapter describes how to manage RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) on a filer. Data ONTAP uses RAID Level 4 to ensure data integrity even when one of the disks fails. With RAID Level 4, Data ONTAP reconstructs the data from a failed disk using data from a parity disk and transfers the data to another disk.
