You can view the current configuration of a specific interface or all interfaces that exist on a filer.
To view the configuration of a specific interface, complete the following step.
| 1 |
ifconfig interface interface is the name of the specific network interface you want to view configuration information about. |
To view the configuration of all interfaces, complete the following step.
| 1 |
ifconfig -a The current configuration of all network interfaces on the filer is displayed. |
The following example displays the configuration of all network interfaces on the filer toaster:
toaster> ifconfig -a
e8: flags=48043<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 9000
inet 172.28.50.2 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 172.28.50.255
ether 00:d0:b7:60:04:a3 (auto-1000sx-fd-down) flowcontrol full
e1: flags=8042<BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
ether 00:c0:95:f9:d2:6c (tp-down)
e0: flags=848043<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 172.28.50.21 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 172.28.50.255
ether 00:a0:98:00:3d:28 (100tx-fd-up)

inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 broadcast 127.0.0.1
In this example, the e8 interface is a Gigabit Ethernet interface with MTU size of 9000 (mtu 9000). The interface is configured to be Up (<UP,BROADCAST,
RUNNING,MULTICAST>). However, the current status of the interface is Down (auto-1000sx-fd-down).
