Setting the MTU on an interface

About the mtusize option  Top

The mtusize option specifies the MTU to use for transmission between your host and the filer. You can use this option to set the jumbo frame size on any copper or fiber Gigabit Ethernet Contoller numbered II or higher.

Note
Jumbo frame support requires an interface that is operating at 1,000 Mbps.

You can also use the mediatype option to set the frame size on an FDDI interface when the network infrastructure does not support the default FDDI frame size. The MTU size does not include the media header or FCS (checksum).
