Data ONTAP data protection processes

Processes supported in the SAN environment  

The Data ONTAP data protection applications perform backup and restore functions on LUNs that you define as part of setting up your SAN networks. Data ONTAP offers the following data protection processes:

• Snapshot^TM feature
• LUN cloning
• SnapRestore^TM feature
• SyncMirror^TM feature
• Volume copy
• SnapMirror^TM feature
• SnapVault^TM feature
• Backup to and restore from tape
• NVFAIL
• NDPM copy
