Autosupport and syslogd messages about vfilers

About autosupport messages  Top

A filer licensed for vfilers includes the output of the vfiler status command in the autosupport messages.

About syslogd messages  Top

The output of the vfiler status command, which indicates whether the vfilers are stopped or running, is logged in the /etc/messages file on the hosting filer.

All messages generated by vfilers are logged to the hosting filer's /etc/messages file. These messages are preceded with the name of the vfiler. For example, if the vfiler named vfiler1 exceeds a quota threshold, the following message is generated:

[vfiler1@quota.softlimit.exceeded:notice]: Threshold exceeded for
tree 3 on volume vol1 for vfiler "vfiler1"
