What activation does
The vfiler dr activate command does the following:
- Breaks the SnapMirror relationships between the source and destination filers.
- Converts the vfiler into an ordinary vfiler that can be started and that responds to all the commands vfilers support.
- Configures IP bindings on the destination vfiler according to the information you provided to the vfiler dr configure command, adding the destination IP information to the destination /etc/rc file. (Any IP information that pertains only to the source vfiler is removed from the destination /etc/rc.)
- Configures the NIS and DNS servers according to the information you provided to the vfiler dr configure command.
- Configures any quota information saved by the vfiler dr configure command.
Deleting the disaster-recovery vfiler
If you need to delete the disaster-recovery vfiler, you can do so, at any time after you have verified that the configuration process is complete, by running the following command on the destination filer:
vfiler dr delete source_vfiler @ source_filer
This will also remove the SnapMirror relationships, and any other configuration information related to the disaster-recovery vfiler, from the source vfiler.
