This chapter covers two distinct but similar sets of tasks: preparing a disaster-recovery, or backup, vfiler (and activating it if a disaster occurs); and moving a vfiler from one physical filer to another (for example if you are replacing an old filer with a new one). Moving a vfiler is sometimes called "migration."
