Path names for NFS exports and CIFS shares

When you specify a path to export to NFS clients or to share with CIFS clients, use the complete path name.

Example of a path for an NFS export

Suppose a vfiler named vfiler1 uses the /vol/vol1 volume for storage. To export the home directory at the root of this volume to the clients of vfiler1, use /vol/vol1/home in the /etc/exports file or in the exportfs command.

Example of a path for a CIFS share

Suppose a vfiler named vfiler1 uses the /vol/vol1 volume for storage. To offer the home directory at the root of this volume as the HOME share, specify /vol/vol1/home as the path name for the HOME share.
