About updating your hardware

After you determine your filer configuration and the software and firmware levels of your hardware, you might need to update those items that are out of date.

Additional hardware adapters you might need

Depending on the number of disk shelves you have or might add, you might also need additional FC-AL adapters or dual Fibre Channel adapters. You also need to add one cluster interconnect adapter, VI cluster adapter, or IB cluster adapter to each filer. See the F800 Series Field Service Guide for more information about adding adapters to your filers.
