Planning your mirrored cluster
Planning for a new mirrored cluster
If you are creating a new mirrored cluster, you should determine the following information:
- The number of volumes your file systems will have
- The number of volumes that will be mirrored and what the composite size is of the volumes to be mirrored
Planning for mirroring an existing cluster
Your current system configuration determines what you need to modify before cabling your individual filers into a mirrored clustered system. You should determine the following information:
- The number of volumes you plan to have or already have in your system
- The number of existing volumes you plan on mirroring
- The disk sizes you have in your existing system
- Whether your total storage can be divided evenly (equal amounts of storage in each half)
- Where your volumes are in your existing cluster
