To cable the node, complete the following steps, using the appropriate illustration for reference.
Note
You can only cable a maximum of two disk shelves per pool.
| 1 |
Cable the first Fibre Channel HBA in slot 5 of the local node, to Switch 1 and Switch 2. In the example, Port A of the Fibre Channel HBA is cabled to Port 0 of Switch 1 and Port B is cabled to Port 0 of Switch 2. |
| 2 |
Cable the second Fibre Channel HBA in slot 8 of the local node, to Port 1 on both switches, with Port A on Switch 1 and Port B on Switch 2. |
| 3 |
Connect the local node Pool 0 disks to the switches by completing the following steps: Note
|
| 4 |
Connect the remote node Pool 1 disks to the switches by completing the following steps: Note
|
| 5 |
Confirm that the disks are visible and have dual paths by entering the following command on the console: storage show disk -p ResultsThe output shows the disks connected to the switches, to what port they are connected, and to what disk and to which LRC, ESH, or ESH2 they belong, as shown in the following example: Exampleha15*> storage show disk -p PRIMARY PORT SECONDARY PORT SHELF BAY switch1:4.40 A switch2:4.40 B 5 0 |
| 6 |
Connect one ISL cable to any port on each switch, making sure that the ports have the same number. In the example, Port 13 is used on both switches. |
| 7 |
Connect the VI-MC cluster adapter to the switches, with the top port connecting to Switch 1 and the bottom port to Switch 2. Note |
| 8 | |
| 9 |
Check to make sure that the node can see all disk shelves by entering the following command on the console: vol status -r Result |
| 10 |
Go to the remote site and follow the instructions in Step 4: Cabling the switches and nodes at the partner site. |
